With playSmart from Onlinelib, we are responding to our customers' requests for a reliable and standardized Digital Rights Management (DRM) system. 

The Onlinelib playSmart technology for Adobe Flashplayer 10.1 or higher, Android and soon iOS enables rights holders to play a video file for their customers offline or onine (streaming).

We build the complete infrastructure, develope the required flash or air player and if needed also the payment solution. 

playSmart works in combination with Adobe Flashplayer 10.1 - 11.xx on Mac OSX, Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7, Android and soon Apple iOS.

We have build a lot DRM playback solutions that allows you to play back DRM content for Flash. 

For Windows and OSX we have developed Desktop Players that allows your customers to view the protected videos offline for the time period of a DRM license, lets say for 24 hours. The client dont requires the installation of addtional codecs or other external sources. For webplayback we offer an optimize OSMF Player which is build in combination with Adobe Strobe Mediaplayback.

Ones the playSmart licenses was submitted to the client computer your users can view the content until the allowed playback duration is invalid.

What is the difference between playSmart and Flash Media Server RTMP(E) Protocol in the area of content protection?
Adobe Flash Media Server 4 software protects streaming content between server and client using encrypted Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMPE). playSmart is a complete digital rights management (DRM) solution based on persistent content protection and usage rules that can be enforced on the client.

Is playSmart approved by the studios?
In general, studios approve content protection technologies in the context of a particular content distribution deal. Today, all major studios trust at least some of their content to content protection technologies provided by Adobe. We work closely with the major studios and other content owners to ensure that playSmart and Flash Access is a trusted technology for content distribution deals. For instance, the Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem has approved Flash Access as a required content protection system for the next generation of digital downloads. 

Does playSmart support license chaining? 
Yes. For example, in the case of subscription models, if a user renews his or her subscription, playSmart can update the root license for the user's device, which will automatically extend the validity period of all the leaf licenses associated with each piece of content.

Can end users be required to "refresh" or check their license, even in an electronic sell-through model?
Yes. playSmart supports a license cache period on the client. You can require (invisible to the user) that the client periodically check their license with the License Server.

Can end users play content downloaded to their desktops even if they are offline?
Yes. Content publishers can incorporate protected content into their own Adobe AIR applications or deliver content to Flash Player. Both Flash Player and AIR support customizable interface elements and backgrounds, so content publishers can deliver content that coordinates with their brand.

What business rules does playSmart?
Onlinelib playSmart supports a range of business rules consistent with established industry practices, including support for different business models such as advertising-supported, rental, and download-to-own. Specific rules that content owners can set include:
Time-limited playback, a set period of time (for example, 30 days) during which rental content is playable after being downloaded Time from playback, a limit on the amount of time end users have to finish watching content once they have started playing it (for example, 24 hours) Start date and end dateOnline and offline access for downloaded content Output protection (analog, digital, or both / only Windows)

Does Flash Access support output protection?
Yes. New in version 2, playSmart Supports digital and analog output protection technologies — including HDCP, CGMS-A, and Rovi (formerly Macrovision) ACP. playSmart consistently enforces policies for analog and digital outputs across all platforms, but currently only Windows platforms can securely turn on output protection when required.

playSmart service starts with a montly cost at 99,-- Euros and for every user license that you request from our DRM backend we charge 0,04 Euros. Its a fullservice where you dont have to install or buy any software license like Adobe Flash Access 2.0 SDK. Included is a DRM Flashplayer for onlinelib and offline playback, PHP Scripts for user-authentifications,  Installation is very simply and it will not take more then 2 hours to see your first protected video. If you want your own DRM Server we can make you an offer. playSmart DRM Server with playSmart starts at 60.000 Euros and makes only sense when you have more then a couple of thousends license per hour or you dont want or can use our service.
